Intel Capital Invests $18 mn in Indian Companies (2 New, 3 Follow-on)

Intel Capital has invested $18 million in Indian companies, out of which 2 are new deals and 3 are follow-on investments.

New investments include PolicyBazaar (online insurance comparison service) and Sudhir Srivastava Robotic Surgery Centre (SSARC), a provider of advanced robotic surgery procedures for specialty areas such as cardia, urology, thoracic, gynecology etc.

In addition to these new investments, Intel Capital has announced follow-on investments in July Systems, Yatra.com and WSO2 (an open source development company).

Funding for the investments announced by Intel Capital comes from USD 250mn Intel Capital India Technology Fund established in December 2005.
