Intel Capital India, the $250mn fund is planning to pump $17 million into three Indian companies, comprising two Internet portals (Yatra, BuzzInTown ) and one OOH advertising firm (Emnet Samsara).

The breakup of investment is not yet known.

More about the companies:

  • Yatra has raised funds from TV18 group, Norwest Venture Partners and Reliance Capital – was planning an IPO by April, 2008 – but given the current sentiments, went to raise funds from VCs. The investment will be used for opening three retail outlets in the next 12 months.

  • Emnet Samsara is an OOH company that targets public transportation industries for OOH ads (has a 10 year partnership with BEST)

Intel capital is a $250mn fund that has earlier invested in Rediff India, Sasken, NIIT and IndiaInfoLine.
