InvenZone, a knowledge discovery platform for scholars and researchers has raised angel funding from VentureNursery’s angels including Amit Patni, Anand Ladsariya, Arif Ali, Arihant Patni, Bharat Banka, Samir Shah, Neeraj Goenka, Ravi Kiran, Sanjay Mehta, Shravan Shroff, Vishal Maheshwari.

The startup founded by IIT Bombay graduate Vinay Kumar and Deekshith Marla, launched its beta product in IIT Bombay and is planning to launch in another top tier university soon. InvenZone has indexed 23 million research papers and lets researchers conduct keyword based searches. These searches also factor in the weightage of the publication.

Although it appears like a niche play, it is a highly competitive space with players like Academia.edu that have a great headstart.
