Financial investment analysis and research portal, Investopresto has raised a round of investment from angel investors based in Singapore, led by Singapore’s leading angel investment company, Crystal Horse Investments (the startup earlier raised $300,000 from Crystal Horse Investments in 2011).
Apart from financial planning, investment analysis and research, Investopresto’s major focus is on introducing the social element back into online investing. Investing has always been a social activity offline. People routinely share investment ideas and recommendations with their friends and family. But when it comes to online behavior, things aren’t quite the same.
Based in Singapore and Hyderabad, Investopresto attempts to re-introduce the social element to investing by allowing users to share trade ideas, stock picks and investment recommendations with friends, family and the world while protecting private information such as the amount invested, number of shares bought/sold etc.
Earlier, financial analysis portal, Moneysights shut down and very few startups have managed to survive in this industry. The numero uno, i.e. Moneycontrol still rules the mindshare and while Indian VCs have mostly stayed away from investing in this vertical, it will be interesting to see how Investopresto cracks the scene.
