Sale of iPhone 5S in India will start from November 1st along with the iPhone 5C. Apple is set to introduce its new iPhone range in a set of 25 new countries starting October 25th, but India is not one of them. India is a part of the 12 countries Apple plans to release the product on November 1st.
The company has not yet revealed the retail prices in India. The 16Gb base models of the iPhone 5S and 5C device currently retail in the US for $649 and $549 respectively.
But if you follow the pricing trend apple has tried previously in India, the Indian pricing for the 5C should be around Rs 40000 and for the 5S should be around Rs 50000.
Apple products are usually launched much later in India than they are launched in other markets. Usually the Apple store website in India says that the device is “coming soon”, but for a change this time the iPhone 5S and 5C page shows “Coming 1 November”.
Apple has not yet started retailing its products directly in India, they are currently sold through Apple authorized resellers.
In July this year, during the the quarterly earnings announcement, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that iPhone sales in India grew over 400% in the last quarter (April-June 2013).
