Games2Win’s iPhone App, SuperMom1 Debuts at 17th Rank (Worldwide)

Games2Win launched SuperMom1 app for iPhone/iPod-touch devices on July 15th – the app debuted at 17th rank (worldwide) and is now (as of writing this article) stands at 26th 2nd position (worldwide ranking).

Interestingly, Games2Win’s another app (Indian Honeymoon) is the second most popular app (among the free apps category) worldwide (Zynga’s Farmville is at number 13).

In terms of future plans, Games2win is now morphing its 100+ top hits into iPhone and Android games and hopes to win big time given that free apps get played extensively by consumers and generate lots of advertising dollars via ad networks such as Admob.

If you look at the iPhone apps market, a whole lot of Indian companies are fairing quite well. Companies like Robosoft/iCarbon have launched quite a few apps that are hugely popular – and not-so-surprisingly, popular categories inlcude Religious apps (iOm), Cricket and Bollywood.

Games2win India surprised the world by reaching the top 2 position in the iTunes store for free apps for iPhone (USA) for its app ‘Super Mom 1’.

Super Mom 1 was launched on the 15th of July on the iTunes store and has already been downloaded over 150,000 times in just 4 days. The game centers on a Super Mom that has to take care of a baby that becomes increasingly difficult to manage. Also, there is a competitive mom on the split screen who gives the player competition in taking care of the baby in the fastest time possible.

Alok Kejriwal – CEO and Co-Founder games2win said, ‘our investments in flash games is now paying off.  Super Mom 1 was a classic hit in our library of 350+ games and we took the next logical step in value creation by producing and publishing a free iPhone game for the title. Now that this game has rocketed, we are already half way done with a fully loaded ‘paid’ Super Mom game with over 50 levels’.  He added, ‘ we have never spent a single $ in promotion and Super Mom 1 has taken off purely on viral traffic. Great content deserves no promotion’.

Alok elaborated that while flash games were scoffed at all along, they are the most inexpensive way to figure out if a game theme or game concept works. If a game theme works, extensions like iPhone apps and logically a social game makes sense. Also since game art is in place, it becomes very easy to ramp up and ‘skin’ the game in many versions.

Last week, Games2win simultaneously released its best selling flash game title in India ‘Great Indian Honeymoon’ as an iPhone paid app and the game has become the No 2 game in the Indian iTunes store ranking for free apps.
