E-learning solutions company iProf has raised Rs 55 crore in a Series B round of funding from DMGI and existing investors. The company had previously raised Rs 22 crore in a Series A round from existing investors Norwest Venture partners and IDG Ventures India.
The company that has deployed tablet based education content in India and to 25,000 students in Mauritius, plans to use the funds to prop its latest product – SchoolEra. iProf plans on deploying SchoolEra across CBSE schools in the country. SchoolEra is a fully automated school management platform that is set to offer personalised learning solutions to these schools.
iProf had produced India’s first personal education tablet way back in 2010. The company offers learning management systems that allow students to view online and offline study material on iProfs’ tablets or students’ own tablets.
iProf had reached out to more than 3,000 students in 2012 and now also plans to open new branches across cities like Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Nagpur.
