IRCTC’s ticket booking and railway enquiry has improved a lot over the years. The many new steps that IRCTC have taken to improve customer service are worth appreciating. This includes the CoD facility for rail tickets, the new booking platform, the RuPay Card, IRCTC eWallet, Next Generation Journey Planner and then the Windows8 and Blackberry App.
What was left out all this while was the official Android App for IRCTC, which has been released today.
Last year IRCTC app was launched for Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 devices developed in partnership with Microsoft. The same was launched by BlackBerry for BlackBerry 10 smartphones back in August.
Similar to the app in other platforms, IRCTC Connect lets you book tickets, make PNR enquiries, check booking and cancellation histories and more.
IRCTC Connect app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store for free. What we really wonder is why IRCTC took a year to launch its Android app? Maybe Microsoft had an exclusive agreement with IRCTC?
