IRCTC recorded a revenue of Rs 24,022 crores in FY 15-16 (was Rs. 20,620 crores a year before).
For the sake of comparison, Flipkart recorded a revenue of Rs. 13,177 crores in FY15-16. And note that IRCTC numbers are only from ticket bookings and not other services like its ecommerce service etc.

While we can continue the monopolistic argument, the reality is that every damn sector is facing stiff competition and IRCTC growth is no small achievement.
