Bangalore based startup iStream had quite a few things going for it. Millions of views, venture capital backing and a growing market. But in May, the company shut down.
The company which launched in December 2011 had crossed 6 million unique users and over 12 million video views by March 2013. The portal uploaded close to 500 videos a day and had more than 120, 000 videos in its website. iStream was targeting 5 million unique users and over 20 million video views per month along with a pay-per-use model by the end of 2013.
In spite of all these impressive facts and figures, iStream had to shut down in May 2013. At our startup conference UnPluggd, Radhakrishnan Ramachandran, Founder and CEO, iStream takes us through their journey from rise to the fall.
