The new company will focus on creating original online video content and building video solutions for brands and media entities.
Something on the lines of the Maker Studios, which was acquired by Disney recently.
The company wants to build a multi-platform, multi-channel online video network, says Radhakrishnan Ramachandran, Founder & CEO of Pepper Media.
Multi channel networks provide solutions ranging from programming to promotion, audience development and monetization to their customers.
The idea is to focus on YouTube for the next 18 months. The startup is targeting a billion video views on a monthly basis by 2017.
“We aim to build a 1000 strong content creator network over the next 12 to 18 months,” added Radhakrishnan.
Radhakrishnan’s previous venture iStream was a video portal with over 6 million unique users and over 12 video views on a monthly basis in March 2013. The iStream shut down after it failed to raise follow on funding.
