Iyengar bakery, one of Bangalore’s oldest bakeries has now gone online and hyper-local. It has started its own e-commerce site for people to place orders.
The bakery that was started in 1981, has over 1000 customers visiting its various offline stores. The bakery now being overseen by businessmen Lakshmeesha and Raman started the online store to help distribute the stores goods to clientele across the city.
“There was demand for more branches, and we thought an online store that would deliver goods all over the city would be a much smarter option,” says Lakshmeesha (via). The orders placed online will be distributed by the physical stores.
The minimum order value is Rs 500. The price of food available range from Rs 30 – Rs 80 for everything except whole cakes, that are priced at Rs 500. Will you really want to buy that kind of quantity to get to the minimum order for delivery?
