Now how cool does that sound? Interpol-ish?
Well, when a technology is quintessentially fit for anonymity, it is hard for it to escape use in areas like financial crime, laundering, tax evasion-games and other grey businesses. That’s why tax enforcement authorities from the US, Canada, UK, Australia and the Netherlands are joining hands and brains in making sure crypto-currencies don’t make the jobs of financial cops harder.
They intend to do this by sharing information and intelligence and trying joint investigations. Incidentally, just a few days back, the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) also picked Valerie Szczepanik as its first-ever digital currency specialist.
