Jaipur Police Seeks Explanation From Ola In Harassment Case

A Columbian national was allegedly harassed by an Ola driver and an accomplice with whom he shared her contact details

The Jaipur police has issued a notice to Ola seeking an explanation in a case where one of its drivers shared contact information of a rider with a person who allegedly harassed her.
A 22-year old Columbian national who booked a cab with the service on February 5 filed an FIR under IPC and the IT act against the driver and his accomplice for harassing her.
The girl, who is a hotel management student, alleged that the driver shared her information with another customer (who was also a student) saying that she was a call girl. Later, the driver called her and teased her repeatedly.
According to the police, both the accused have been arrested, and a notice seeking an explanation has been sent to Olacabs. The incident is the latest in a string of cases that have raised questions about the safety of using taxi-hailing services such as Olacabs, Uber and TaxiForSure.
