Legacy of James Bond Franchise [Lessons for Entrepreneurs]

The 50th anniversary of fictional British spy James Bond, or 007 as he is known in the secret service, is being celebrated today. Like companies that reinvent themselves to stay relevant, the Bond franchise has lived through five decades, appealing to generations that have changed radically over time.

A tough feat to achieve. Writer Ian Fleming created Bond for his short story collections in 1953. The Bond franchise which began with the movie Dr No in 1962, has since then been close to bankruptcy many times.

But every time, it has come back to eager fans with a bang bigger than before. Late producer Albert R Broccoli who began the franchise with Canadian producer Harry Saltzman was clearly an entrepreneur with much fight in him.
