March 3rd is his birthday and we bring to you, a few inspiring quotes from Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata.
Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata devoted his life to four goals: setting up an iron and steel company, a world-class learning institution, a unique hotel and a hydro-electric plant. His ideas and beliefs led to foundation of IISc, Tata Steel

If you cannot make it greater, at least preserve it. Do not let things slide. Go on doing my work and increasing it, but if you cannot, do not lose what we have already done.
Jamsetji Tata to his son Dorab while on his deathbed.

With honest and straightforward business principles, close and careful attention to details, and the ability to take advantage of favourable opportunities and circumstances, there is a scope for success.

In a free enterprise, the community is not just another stakeholder in business, but is in fact the very purpose of its existence.

Trivia : The Taj Mahal Hotel, at that time in India was the first building in Bombay and first hotel in India to have electricity. The interesting bit here is that Jamsetji Tata set his mind on building the hotel after being denied entry into one of the city’s hotels for being an Indian!
