Jio unveils world’s first AI based video call bot that promises to ‘revolutionize’ customer support

Reliance Jio has unveiled an AI based Video Call Assistant (bot) at India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2019, that can be accessed via a standard 4G phone call, without the need for a secondary app, whose major applications are in customer support and customer communication use cases.

Built in conjunction with US based Radisys, a Reliance Industries subsidiary, the solution, claimed to be the world’s first, has the potential to do away with pain points like unending call-hold music and long IVR wait-times.

The company says the ‘Jio Video Call Assistant’ will empower businesses to tackle frequent queries from customers via AI that will respond to customers questions in the form of video avatars that can be customized to suit the needs of the brand. It could be a mascot, or a brand ambassador or even the CEO. It also offers multilingual capabilities.

Along with the solution, Reliance Jio is also offering a ‘Jio Bot Maker’ that will allow small businesses to build their own bots with no-coding and minimal technical input to offer ‘human-like’ interaction for their customers.
