It seems GTalk chat bots has caught the fancy of job sites in India. After Naukri, Timesjobs too has launched it’s GTalk bot that enables one to search for jobs.
Call it a herd mentality, but the good part is that majority of classified sites in India have relied on traditional experience – and distribution was always via offline mode.
Given GTalk’s penetration in emerging markets, it is becoming a significant distribution platform play – but majority of companies have banned usage of IMs at work premise. So how about an email based solution (on the lines of Rediff’s WebInMail) – though privacy remains an issue there.
What’s your opinion? What sort of distribution strategy will work for job sites? Should local search players also join the bandwagon?
