App Roundup: Now Pay for Food On JUST EAT Mobile App; Amar Ujala Launches Deal App & More

just-eatOnline food ordering and table reservation website, has updated its Android app to version 2.0 which brings a couple of new features including an online payment feature and discount coupons while ordering through the app. In addition to the cash on delivery option users of the app can now also pay with a credit card while ordering from the app. The discount coupon feature allows users to avail certain discounts offered by JUST EAT India from time to time which will be emailed to the users. A special introductory discount of 40% is being offered to new users who download and place an order through the app. The app also introduces a pick up/takeaway option in the new version. At present the app also lists restaurants in Bangalore, Delhi NCR and Mumbai.

These new features will be rolled out to iOS and Windows Phone users in the next couple of week. A newer version of the app slated to be launched soon will also increase the number of cities to 26, which includes restaurants from its partners TimesCity and burrp!

Speaking to, Sandipan Mitra, Director – Sales and Marketing, JUST EAT India said, “We are seeing an increasing number of downloads and more importantly the conversion rate and repeat rates are quite high. On average we see around 3 orders per download, which is very encouraging.”

Amar Ujala Releases Best Deals App

Amar-UjalaHindi news daily Amar Ujala has launched a best deals apps for local merchants and customers in Agra. By targeting customers in the vicinity using Geo targeted Ads, merchants would be able to clear inventory towards the end of the day by updating a quick deal targeting those customers. For example cinema halls could now offer progressive discounting on tickets and announce it directly to the handset of the consumers who in the 5km radius of the cinema hall. hike finds that Kolkata Loves Shopping and Bangalore Loves Caffeine

In April, hike updated its messaging app to include Status Updates and Moods.  During the last weekend the hike team analyzed the most recent 1 million updates and came up with some interesting findings about the various moods across India.

The Mood Graph found that while Delhi is a city of big drinkers, Bangalore loved its dose of caffeine. Mumbai’s traffic chaos and the fact that Hyderabad people run late were also showcased in the finding. It also found that Kolkata was a shopping paradise for women.

Though there are only 24 moods right now including Happy, Hangover, Shopping, Gaming etc, the team plans to include a lot more moods in the next few months.
