KarmYog Media Secures Funding for Pan India Roll Out of Indian Idol Academy

Kolkata based KarmYog Media and Entertainment Education Network has sold a minority stake to Singapore based investors to raise funds.

KarmYog Media and Entertainment Education Network, a Kolkata based organization focused on education in the Media & Entertainment space, today announced an undisclosed investment against a minority stake sale to Singapore-based investors in KYMedia.

The investment will deployed for its flagship program Indian Idol Academy, which teaches students music through its platform. KYMedia is a part of “KarmYog Education Network”, which imparts scalable vocational training and education.


Indian Idol Academy is a paltform which teaches students aged 6-15 for a fee. The idea was first tested in Ahmedabad and will be launched across the country in April 2014. Starting next month, Indian Idol Academy will roll out in various other cities like Kolkata, Lucknow, Jaipur, Chandigarh, NCR, Surat, Indore and Bhubaneswar.

The launch of IIA will be announced at concerts that will take places in these cities, the company said.
