Kim Dotcom Set to Revive Megaupload Using Bitcoin

The controversial entrepreneur, whose file-sharing site Megaupload, was shut down by the US govt, for being used by people to illegally download songs, television shows, and movies, is all set to launch a new version of the service. Dotcom says, Megaupload 2.0, which will be launched on Jan 20, 2017, will come with enhanced security and privacy features and will be “a nightmare for those who want to mass surveil & censor.” The new site will use bitcoins for transfers taking place over its service.
