Dell launches 16 e-recycle collection centers across 13 Indian cities

Exhibiting its commitment to encourage and enable free and responsible ways of disposing e-waste, Dell today launched 16 electronics recycling collection points for consumers across 13 cities – Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow and Noida, with two collection points each in Pune, Mumbai and Kolkata in the country.

These collection points will be located at the existing Dell Carry-In Service (CIS) centers to encourage the responsible disposal and recycling of any brand, through a Dell-approved environmental partner. Each center will house electronics collection bins that consumers can use to drop-off their non-working electronics.

The electronics recycling collection points are an extension of Dell’s global free recycling program that aims to provide free and easy recycling for consumers, keep environmentally sensitive materials out of landfills, enable materials to be recycled or reused, and help conserve natural resources.

Kobian launches 3G dual-sim tablet

Singapore based technology product company, Kobian has launched 3G dual-sim tablet – mTab streaQ under its brand Mercury.  The device comes with a 7″ capacitive multi-touch screen and runs on Android 4.0 and powered by 1.2 GHz Cortex A9 speed processor .

The tablet has 1GB DDR3 and built-in 3G module, Wi-Fi, bluetooth and dual camera – 2.0 megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera . The 7″ wide capacitive ultra-light touch screen offers a resolution of 1024 x 600pixels. The device has 7mm slim body with a special rubberized back panel which reduces the heating issues.

mTab streaQ supports features like  Bluetooth, HDMI output, full HD support, inbuilt GPS, G-sensor, built-in FM, speaker and mic. mTab streaQ  is priced at Rs. 11,499 and available ex-stock with 1 year warranty.

Akai expands its TV range in LED and HD LCD segment

Japanese Consumer Electronics brands Akai has announced the launch of LED32D20 Dx TV and two new HD LCD TV models – Cutie (15 –inch) and Elegance (17 -inch) priced at Rs. 7,990/ onwards.

The 32D20 Dx LED TV is a HD ready TV with Italian brushed black steel finish. The ultra slim LED TV has blu ray USB feature that allows the user to enjoy playback of Full HD movies straight on the LED TV through the provided two USB slots with dynamic contrast ratio of 100000:1 and sound output of 400 W PMPO. The LED TV is also equipped with wide viewing angle and 16.7 million display colours which enhance the picture details like colour saturation, sess & luminance. Same model is available in three other sizes – 24 inch, 22 inch as well as 19 inches.

The LCD range has 4:3 aspect ratio, and models are available in two colour options – black and white. Other key features include PC compatibility, 3D dynamic noise reduction, dynamic skin correction, 3D comb filter. The LED32D20 Dx is priced at Rs. 25, 490/ and the LCD Cutie (Black) is priced at Rs. 7,990/- and Elegance (Black) at Rs. 9,990.
