LG Electronics has announced the launch of its IoT enabled ceiling fan in India. The standout features of the fan includes ‘Dual Wing’ fan-blades, which are sleek looking and the company claims they provide ‘natural airflow’ covering an entire room. Modeled after a humpback whale’s fins, the wings are also said to keep noise to under 49dB.
LG says it has included a powerful motor in the fan that reduces power consumption while providing strong performance. Interestingly, the fan also includes anti-mosquito technology – ultrasonic sound waves are produced which are designed to keep the insects away.
The fan comes with its own remote control, however since the fan is IoT based, it can be controlled via a smartphone application as well as via devices like Amazon’s Alexa. A LED panel on the fan provides key information, another unique feature in its segment.
