NetworkPlay, Capital18 promoted ad network has bagged LinkedIn’s India traffic account and the focus will be to monetize via brand campaigns (has roped in advertisers like Airtel, Citibank) and not CPC/CPL.

Cloes to 70mn UUs and 220mn Visits (as of Feb 2009) – Most importantly, LinkedIn is seeing India as a potential growth story (they had 1mn userbase from India, as of July 2008) and interestingly, LinkedIn is most searched from India.
As per afaqs, Linkedin.com charges between Rs 400-500 per thousand banner ad impressions, while CPM rate for banner ads on social networking sites such as Facebook.com and Orkut.com are Rs 130 and Rs 118, respectively. The CPM rate for banner ads on BigAdda.com is Rs 110.
There has been a good activity in Job/Career networking space – very recently, Sabeer Bhatiya’s ApnaCircle.com was acquired by Viadeo, and now that LinkedIn is getting aggressive in India, do you think others stand a chance?
