Union minister for Power, Piyush Goyal while inaugurating a bio-CNG plant near Chennai on Saturday said that Maharashtra Government will waive road tax, registration fees and value added tax on electric vehicles. He also added that it will first be launched in some cities of Maharashtra.

The Government will also promote green energy in the state and is planning to set up 5 lakh battery charging stations so as to promote electric vehicles.
The Government will also be working with experts and reduce building costs.
