Online travel company, MakeMyTrip has acquired Netherlands-based hotel reservation company EasyToBook for a total of $5 million.

MakeMyTrip bought shares from existing shareholders of EasyToBook, and has also invested a further amount into EasyToBook.

EasyToBook was founded in 2004 and lets users book hotel reservations in Europe, North America and other global destinations.

MakeMyTrip and other OTAs have been betting big on hotels & packages ever since revenues from air ticket sales have started dropping. On this acquisition, MakeMyTrip says that it will help strengthen its hotel rooms offerings for customers who are traveling abroad.
