MapmyIndia has launched “Don’t Panic,” a new full-featured maps and GPS navigation app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users in India. The move comes less than a week after thousands of iPhone users in India got wild with Apple when they discovered that the new map application on their devices were next to useless after they upgraded to the latest operating system.
Apple replaced Google maps application from its new operating system with a native application last week.
The MapmyIndia app is available across iOS6 including all other versions. Unlike other maps and navigation apps, Don’t panic stores map data on the device and does not require an active data connection.
Interestingly, MapmyIndia is offering different plans that allow users to choose them as per their needs. It is also extending special and limited offers across location specific map apps, for example – currently, all India map app (link) can be purchased at $ 19.99, Maharashtra (link), while Karnataka (link) and Delhi NCR (link) map app at $ 7.99.
According to a company statement, Don’t Panic offers rich, detailed, comprehensive and accurate map coverage of MapmyIndia, including thousands of cities at street level and millions of points of interest across India, with an extremely easy-to-use, super-fast user experience. The app helps users find any place easily, search for what is nearby and reach their destination conveniently
Last week, MapmyIndia had slashed prices of its navigation app, ‘Sygic and MapmyIndia for a limited period of time (GPS Navigation’ on Apple’s iOS platform) from $49.99 to $29.99.
