Exclusive : Infibeam to launch Marketplace for Used & Rare Books [More than 70 Lakh Books]

Infibeam started as an online car retailing site, expanded to several other ecommerce categories, launched an eBook reader, branded mobile phones and of course, the iPad competitor, i.e. Phi.

This week, the company is launching a marketplace for used and rare books. The marketplace has a selection of more than 70 Lakh used books, rare books and ofcourse the new books.

As far as consumer is concerned, nothing changes in the flow except for the fact that when browsing a book page, you will now see the ‘used version from sellers’ and can purchase the books directly from seller (transaction managed by Infibeam).

Over time, Infibeam will open up the platform to all individuals who can register with Infibeam as a seller (and sell used books). Infibeam will allow sellers to even sell their products at a price lower than Infibeam’s and basically, enable customer to make the choice (based on pricing, availability, format etc).

An orbit change for Infibeam – from being an online retailer to building a seller platform – i.e .marketplace.

So what exactly is Infibeam? They sell books, have their own branded mobile phone, eBook reader, tablet PC?
