Homegrown phone brand Micromax has officially entered Russia, a market that it wanted to break into before trying other international markets.
The company will introduce its Canvas series of smartphones and Bolt series of smart-feature phones in Russia. It has plans to launch 14 products in the Russian market in the initial phase and then move on to Europe.
The phone company also wants to setup more than 60 service centers by end of the month. Micromax will set up exclusive service centers in strategic cities in Russia as the brand strengthens its presence across the country, said the company.
Without key patents, if Micromax enters markets like Europe and United States, won’t it place itself right in the middle of an ugly patent war? In India, Micromax has already been sued by Ericsson for infringing key patents.
