Microsoft has announced that it has acquired Berlin-based 6Wunderkinder, the creator of the highly acclaimed to-do list app, Wunderlist.
The company says the addition of Wunderlist to its product portfolio fits squarely into its ambition of reinventing productivity in a mobile-first, cloud-first world.
Wunderlist has over 13 million users who have created over 1 billion to-do logs, but in order to grow further, requires the wealth of expertise, technology and people at Microsoft.
Post acquisition, Microsoft says customers can expect the app to remain free in all if its existing markets and there will be no price changes for Wunderlist Pro or Wunderlist for Business customers.
Further, the team from 6Wunderkinder will make the jump over to Microsoft which the company says will help it apply Wunderlist’s innovations across Microsoft’s apps and services.
Wunderlist will continue to be available across platforms – iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, Android, Windows Phone, Windows and the Web.
