Microsoft has announced the availability and pricing for the cloud based variant of its crown jewel, Microsoft office, Office 365 in India. The launch is aimed for both home, SMBs and enterprise customers in India and is priced close to Google’s competing products.
Office 365 Home Premium version pricing starts from Rs 420 a month or Rs 4199 a year. This includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Publisher and Access for installation on five PCs or Macs. The package also include a free 20GB storage on Microsoft’s Skydrive.
For SMBs the Office 365 has been priced ranging from $6/user/month upto $ 20/user/month.
With the cloud based nature of the suite users can access office 365 from various devices i.e mobile, laptop desktop from any location as long as there is a data connection. The Office 365 has been competitively priced starting from $ 6/user/month, very close to its competitor Google apps pricing of $ 5/user/month. Microsoft office promises to give better system integration.
Microsoft said many more have joined the list of industry majors to join the grow list of Office 365 adopters. Microsoft has bagged some new clients including Lupin, Godrej Group and Tata Communications besides the existing ones such as Tata Elxsi, FICCI, Dabur India and others.
The pricing for the non cloud variant of office, Office 2013, starts from Rs 4,499 for Home and Student version to Rs 24,999 for the Professional version.
Customers can purchase the next generation Office 365 directly from Microsoft online or through an authorized retail outlet or partner.
