Roundup: Mobile Number Portability to start from November 1st

Mobile Number Portability is all set to go live from November 1st. The first roll out will be in Haryana, followed by a first phase rollout in 11 circles in north and west India from third week of November.

MNP has been delayed multiple times and even the November 1st rollout is a a partial rollout.

Reliance Launches SMS Based Call Conferencing Facility

Reliance has announced SMS based conference calling feature (to Group Talk service) that will be made available to its GSM and CDMA subscribers. Group Talk, a call conferencing facility that enables RCom subscribers to setup group conferencing facility via SMS.

  • ‘Schedule’ a conference in the future (Dial-in) (post/prepaid)

Qualcomm To Sell Indian BWA Business

Qualcomm which won broadband wireless spectrum (BWA) for four circles at Rs 4,912 crore is exiting the business. Dect-to-home (DTH) service provider Dish TV Ltd’s board on Tuesday approved raising fresh funds up to $200 million through issue of equity shares and/or other equity linked instruments for acquisition of new subscribers. BIG CBS Network’s Channel Launch in India

As the countdown to the launch of BIG CBS Networks’ channels in India begins, with BIG CBS Prime, BIG CBS Love and BIG CBS Love, the Company had finalized the subscription rate card for addressable and non-addressable distribution platforms. The BIG CBS channels will be distributed at the a la carte rate (non-addressable) of Rs. 14, Rs. 11 & Rs.11 for BIG CBS Prime, BIG CBS Spark and BIG CBS Love respectively. Simultaneously the channels will be distributed at a bouquet rate (non-addressable) of Rs 21.2 (Rs 9.2 for BIG CBS Prime, Rs 6.0 for each BIG CBS Spark & BIG CBS Love).
