Bangalore-based mobile game developer Moonfrog Labs has raised $15 million in Series A funding led by Tiger Global and Sequoia Capital.

The firm will use the newly raised funds for talent acquisition and developing games in new genres, including action, strategy, and roleplaying.
Moonfrog’s most popular game “Teen Pati Gold” has been downloaded over 2 million times, with the company claiming its the highest grossing Indian game on Android and iOS.
To serve the Indian mobile gaming sector, the biggest struggle for developers is contending with high data charges and unreliable connections.
The company also plans to revamp its technology platform, including its backend, data analytics and distribution.
