- NASA has launched TEMPO (Tropospheric Emissions Monitoring of Pollution instrument) into a fixed-rotation orbit around Earth.
- TEMPO will keep track of nitrogen dioxide, formaldehyde, ground-level ozone, and other harmful airborne pollutants.
- These pollutants are the building blocks of smog.
