Revenue growth from the digital content business of Network18 seems to be slowing down, even as its ecommerce business picks up. The digital content business, which includes revenue from properties like Moneycontrol, Firstpost, In, Ibnlive, Burrp and News18, clocked a marginal growth in revenue up from Rs 88 Cr in FY13 to Rs 91 Cr in FY14.

Digital content continued to make losses at an operational level.

The digital Commerce arm of Network18 – bookmyshow.com and Homeshop18 – grew at 60% over FY13 reaching Rs 439.8 cr in revenue.

Homeshop18 which had filed for a $75 mn IPO in April 2014, continues to drive majority of its business via Television.

Bookmyshow.com too reported an increase in the number of tickets sold to 2.9 million, up from 1.6 million last year; an 81 % increase boosted by the company’s partnership with six IPL teams giving it control over 60% of IPL ticket inventory.
