News: 3G Video Calling Approved

DoT has approved video calling over 3G network, but the approval has come with a rider – i.e. operators will have to provide interception capabilities by July 31st.

β€œIt has now been decided that carriage of video calls on mobile networks would be permitted, subject to an undertaking by the service providers concerned that they shall demonstrate the required capability by July 31.”[source]

Earlier, DoT had asked Reliance and Tata Teleservices to hold on to the commercial launch of video calling service.
