News: CWG Tickets @IRCTC, Doordarshan to go digital [and more]

IRCTC will sell CWG (Common Wealth Games) tickets. In total, there will be 22 Lakh tickets of different denominations to be sold at the event and the ticket sale is expected to generate Rs. 120 cr revenue.

Doordarshan plans to go digital by the year 2017

To offer better audio quality and sharper picture to millions of its viewers, public broadcaster Doordarshan plans to go completely digital by 2017.

The first step towards meeting this goal was the announcement of the headends in the sky (HITS) policy by the government late last year, which gives cable operators an option to go for digital transmission of channels.[more]
