Nexus India Capital invests in Sedemac, Energy Efficiency Startup

Nexus India Capital has invested in SEDEMAC, IIT Mumbai incubated startup that has developed electronic control modules, which increase the fuel efficiency and reduce emissions of small engines.

SEDEMAC is focused on building an Engine Management System (EMS) product for Asian 2/3 wheelers and plans to introduce its product in the market by March 2009. The product features shall be:

  • At least 10% improvement in the fuel efficiency over the conventional “carburetor” solutions for 2/3 wheelers
  • Compliance with the upcoming, stricter emission regulations across Asia
  • Up to 33% reduction in the unit cost owing to “model-based” technologies developed by SEDEMAC
  • Use of intellectual property built “from-scratch” in India and tailored to the design requirements of Asian small vehicles.

Nexus India Capital closed it’s second fund of $220mn a few weeks back.
