Google is winding down Google Station project, due to multiple factors.
Apart from the fact that India has seen data penetration grow massively, there are many challenges of varying technical requirements and infrastructure, making it difficult for Station to scale and be sustainable, especially for Google’s partners.
The project will be shut down globally by 2020.
