The Nokia Lumia 520, Nokia’s most affordable Windows Phone 8 Smartphone, will be available in the Indian market from today priced at Rs 10,499.
It is available in bright colors such as in yellow, red, cyan, white, and black along with changeable shells.
The Nokia Lumia 520 contains many of the same digital camera lenses as its high end siblings – Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820, as well as maps and navigation from HERE, free music streaming and a four-inch super sensitive touchscreen.
Nokia had said two weeks back that the phone would be available in India during the first week of April and online pre-orders had begun last week. Both the Lumia 520 and Lumia 720, were unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at the end of February.
To recap, the Lumia 520 features a 4-inch display with a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera. There is no front facing camera. The phone is powered by a dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 CPU and has 512MB of RAM. It has 8GB of internal storage and comes with a 1430mAh internal battery.
Like all other Lumia phones, the Lumia 520 will come preloaded with Nokia exclusive Windows Phones apps like Nokia Drive, Mix Radio and CityLens.
Nokia has also tied up with Reliance Communications and is offering 1GB of 3G data each month free for the first two months along with unlimited Facebook and WhatsApp usage during the same period.
The phone definitely looks like a winner at this price and with the Windows Phone ecosystem growing, this could be a good alternative for low-cost Android phones.
