Notion Ink’s Adam Available for Pre-Order [Can Adam Eat the Apple?]

Notion Ink’s Adam tablet is up for pre-order and the Android tablet starts at $375.

Adam Variants

Adam, the Android tablet comes in 6 variants – LCD (wi-fi only), LCD + 3G -900 series, LCD + 3G -850 series, Transflective (Wi-Fi only), Transflective + 3G -900 series, Transflective + 3G -850 series; and the base price of the first version (LCD/Wi-Fii) is only $375.53 (now, that’s a good pricing strategy).

Reliance funded Notion Ink has built custom interface on top of Android and advanced features like better OpenGL ES support/better copy/paste etc (which will be supported in Android 3.0) .

In its blog post, the company hasn’t shared the details whether Adam tablet will support the Android marketplace or create its own app ecosystem. The details are not yet out and we’d request the NI team to share more details (videos, please?), before they go global.

We liked the way how team went viral – they mentioned that you need to comment on the blog post to get access to pre-order link and that took them to the #2 blog on wordpress.com!

Now that the tablet is out in the open, do you think Notion Ink’s Adam can eat the Apple? What’s your take?

The team, for sure deserves a pat on the back for launching a global product from India and importantly, creating an aura of awesomeness around the launch [The real journey begins now!].

More as we get to play with the toy.
