NRN has donned a not-so-serious avatar and is now the comic book hero of Amar Chitra Katha.
This is for the first time that ACK will feature a living person as a comic book hero (other heroes being Gandhi, Subhash Chanda Bose, J.R.D Tata, Rani of Jhansi and Akbar).
“Murthy’s life story is to be the content of a new comic to be brought out by Amar Chitra Katha, the popular comic book series, making him the first living person to be featured in the Amar Chitra Katha series, which mostly focuses on popular Indian myths and legends.
ACK Media, the publisher, will follow this up with stories of famous personalities like cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and former Indian President and Bharat Ratna award winner, APJ Abdul Kalam.” – source
Given that NRN has a strong fan following, expect major sales surge in the comic.
We all look for inspirations from real world and no doubt, NRN does stand out as a real-life hero with strong ethical values (though we disagree with his stand on Satyam) – do expect the magazine to rock ‘n’ roll with NRN.
What’s your opinion? Will you buy a copy of ACK (with ‘Murthy’ the hero)?
Amar Chitra Katha has also partnered with Vodafone to enable Vodafone users to read the comics, download ringtones, characters and wallpapers from the comic series.
