Ola has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh which will let the company bring over 50,000 vehicles in the state within the next three years.
Pranay Jivrajka, Chief Operating Officer at Ola said, “As the government works toward transforming AP into a tourist hub, Ola will use its expertise to provide technology for more than 50,000 vehicles across the state ensuring a convenient and safe experience for users. Ola will be investing over INR 150 cr towards skilling, opportunity creation and technology deployment across the state.”
The company hass proposed an investment of INR 150 cr in a bid to encourage driver entrepreneurship and to create employment opportunities in the state.
The company will also be rolling out an extensive skill development program for drivers and will be providing free skill development training to drivers during this time.
Currently, Ola has over 10,000 vehicles on its platform in the state and is present across 5 major cities in the state including Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Rajahmundry, Tirupati.
