There are umpteen SAAS based Project management products, and the market surely is over crowded with me-too players.
BootStrapToday, a Pune based startup has launched its SAAS based Collaboration and Application Lifecycle Management suite of products enabling small businesses/startups to manage projects/vendors and thereby reducing the operational expense.
The company currently is targeting two verticals – Education and SME segment. Here are a few use cases that the team has defined for the product.
Education – There should be a platform where students can identify the Industry sponsored projects, collaborate with each other & there can be somebody from the Industry who can mentor them. Also there should
be a way where students can create their own projects & somebody from Industry can adopt those projects in terms of mentoring or sponsorship.
Using the product:
- Collaborative learning methods tend to encourage construction of knowledge, deeper understanding, and greater skill development by their ability to engage students dynamically in learning process.
- It reflects on the service activity in such a way as to gain further understanding of the curricular content, a broader appreciation of the discipline, and an enhanced sense of personal values & civic responsibility.
SME Segment –
Companies having major presence in tier 1 and tier 2 cities are already planning to move part of their operations or build vendor relations in tier 2 & tier 3 cities to ensure that they remain profitable. Larger companies like Infosys & TCS have already identified this problem and they have quickly moved or started moving their development centres in Tier2 & Tier3 cities where the operational cost is significantly lower than Tier1 cities and access to related loyal technical talent is relatively better. This creates a huge challenge for MSME (Micro Small Medium Enterprises) segment though, as they already operate on thinner margin compared to their larger counterparts. Also bigger companies are now going for smaller accounts which were earlier addressed only by small companies. This again adds to the whammy, as the small companies now need to directly compete with their larger counterparts.
