MrThomasAn online store for hardware tools is not something that you come across very often in India, and with most offline stores nestled among crowded streets and lanes an online store is a big welcome for most of us looking for simple tools, like drilling machines and files, to larger equipments like concrete grinders.

Mr.Thomas is a Chennai based one stop e-commerce store for all home improvement & business improvement products. The portal retails in various products like power tools, home improvements, drillers, hardware, construction equipments & accessories etc. Soon the portal also plans to introduce new product lines like hand tools, generators, invertors, batteries etc.

Most top brands and their products across the hardware catalogues are available and the products are delivered across the country.

Online marketplace in India mostly connects buyers and sellers when it comes to core B2B products. Mr.Thomas intends to step ahead and sell those product to the end users/customers. Also many of the industries, factories and commercial establishments are located in remote areas, especially in tier 2 and 3 cities, where getting hold of hardware tools might become difficult and in such situations Mr.Thomas wants to help. Users can purchase, pay and receive the products delivered to your doorstep.

The service launched earlier this month, received its initial orders from across the country from places like Pune, Cuddapah (AP) and New Delhi.

Users purchasing products on the website have various search options to find their products. Brand wise products listing, filter by brand, price & category, auto suggest search engine, quick view etc are some of the features available on the portal to help you find your required product.

The service is not a marketplace and deals in its products directly, hence the main revenue stream is through sale margins.

In future, the service is planning to launch a new segment called ‘You can do’, a do-it-yourself concept, like educating people how to paint their walls or how to make a  reading table on your own with the help of MrThomas. The company says that this new segment was planned to build DIY attitude to the people and to help them do things using the products retailed by Mr.Thomas.
