Google releases plug-in letting you open Drive files in MS Office

Google has released a plug-in for Microsoft Office that lets you open documents stored on your Google Drive directly in the application without the need of opening a browser.

Users can now open up their Drive documents in Office, edit them and save them back onto the Cloud based storage service at their convenience. Google has been adding functionality to Google Drive by allowing users to their data with applications stored on your computer.

Google is aiming this towards ease of access for users that work across distances using different devices by being a common bridge between them.
