Online remote health care service platform OurHealthMate has raised $440K in seed funding from angel investors, said incubator JFDI. The investment was led by Bimal Shah, Singapore-based Benjamin Tsai and an international angel syndicate led by trader Ben Ball.
Started by Akash Kumar and Abhinav Krishna, OurHealthMate was incubated in the JFDI accelerator in 2013. The funding raised will be used to expand across Asia, and recruit 6-16 people into their teams across India and Singapore.
OurHealthMate aids NRIs in monitoring the health of their families in India by enabling the booking and paying of checkups and doctor’s appointments. They can also receive feedback directly from doctors using the platform.
NRIs can connect to over 2,000 doctors across 50 cities in India using the platform. The company says that 30 new hospitals join their network every week.
