UK based media conglomerate Pearson, famous for brands like Penguin Books and Financial Times has launched a new tabled based education solution for schools in India. The MX Touch, will contain digital learning content and will be priced under Rs 7000 for the 7 inch version and the 10 inch pack will cost approximately Rs 12,000.
MX Touch is compliant with the school syllabus and comes bundled with tablets, the company said in a statement. While supporting the core syllabus, the service will also help promote ICT in school education in India by familiarizing students with the latest learning technology, it added.
The product also allows parents to monitor the academic progress of their children with easy to assignments, difficult lessons covered during school hours and archived assessments and tests.
MX Touch will be available in three versions: MX Touch – ActiveTouch, MX Touch – DigitALly and MX Touch – Ultimate.
MX Touch – ActiveTouch has graded digitised textbooks already loaded on the tablet. ActiveTouch is available in four subjects — English, Science, Mathematics and Hindi — for classes 3 to 8.
MX Touch – DigitALly is loaded with DigitALly Student Edition, another edition of Pearson’s patented and teaching tool. DigitALly includes animations, videos, self-explanatory diagrams, worksheets, quizzes and several hours of experiments for different subjects designed to make the learning more engaging. MX Touch – DigitALly SE (student edition) can house an entire curriculum of a grade on a device.
MX Touch – Ultimate is a bundled version that includes MX Touch – ActiveTouch and MX Touch – DigitALly SE.
Earlier, Micromax launched a tablet called the Funbook Infinity which comes bundled with educational content in partnership with publishers like McGraw Hill, Everonn, Pearson and Vriti for educational content.
