PIB given powers to identify false news about government bodies

The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has been given the power to identify false news concerning government bodies.
According to Minister of State for Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, any intermediary that does not comply with the due diligence obligations under the Information Technology Rules will lose their immunity status.
