Bangalore Startups And IT Firms’ New Recruits Likely To Undergo Police Verification And Background Check

Startups’ and IT firms’ new recruits are likely to undergo a background check as Bangalore police intelligence wing have decided to keep a necessary check on terrorist activities.

Until September 21st, the Bangalore Police received 13,824 applications for verification from the private sector and thus making a background check mandatory, which was earlier applicable only to cab drivers and school staffers [source].

The Ministry of Home Affairs through the Intelligence Bureau has asked the Karnataka Police that few engineers with past link ups with terrorism has entered the Bangalore IT industry.

Recently, Department of Commerce also launched a startup council to foster the startup ecosystem and cater their needs.
